2027 cohort · Applications open

A validated BLDC motor controller for your application in six months.

Tell us what you are building. We configure our market-ready controller for your motor and operating requirements, validate it on real hardware and on your platform, and deliver a manufacturable design with the evidence your certification needs. UAV propulsion is one example, alongside robotics and industrial drives.

For manufacturers of BLDC-powered products, including UAVs and high-dynamic electric drives · Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the EU

The deal, in full.

What you receive

  • ✓Validated controller design for your platform
  • ✓Configured control software, delivered as a licensed binary
  • ✓Validation reports for your certification file
  • ✓Manufacturing package, production test support and licence terms for series production

What it costs

  • •A fixed pilot fee, scoped to your platform and safety level. No hourly billing, no overruns.
  • •Prototype build and all bench time included.
  • •No equity, no exclusivity, no minimum volume.

What we ask

  • •A named engineering counterpart, one hour per week, and your motor and load combination for validation
  • •Access to an application-appropriate test slot in phase 3, such as flight or dynamometer testing
  • •Permission to reference the pilot once it succeeds

Six months, five phases.

Every phase ends in something you can hold, read or sign. Nothing is left to the final week.

  1. 0

    Requirements

    Weeks 1–2

    What happens

Capture application, motor, load, power source, environment, safety level and manufacturing target.

    You get

Requirement sheet signed by both parties.

  2. 1

    Configure

    Weeks 3–8

    What happens

The controller configured for your motor, load and power source; integration with your platform agreed.

    You get

    Configuration proposal and integration specification.

  3. 2

    Build

    Weeks 9–14

    What happens

Prototypes built and configured; bench tests on real hardware, including thermal, switching and EMC pre-compliance.

    You get

    Prototype units; bench test report.

  4. 3

    Validate

    Weeks 15–22

    What happens

Validation on your motor and load combination; environmental and fault tests; application-specific campaign such as flight or dynamometer testing.

    You get

Validation report for your certification file.

  5. 4

    Industrialise

    Weeks 23–26

    What happens

Manufacturing package and production test support for your chosen manufacturer; licence terms for series production.

    You get

    Manufacturing package; licence agreement.

Why a pilot takes months, not years.

A new controller normally means a 12 to 24 month design and revalidation cycle. Four things remove most of it.

Configured, not redesigned

The controller already exists and is market-ready. Your variant is a configuration for your motor, load and power source, not a new development.

Proven on real hardware

The controller has been validated on real hardware. Your pilot adds validation on your own motor and load.

Evidence from the first prototype

Every phase produces test reports and traceability for your certification file, not paperwork bolted on at the end.

Protected control software

Delivered as a licensed binary. You configure it for your application; you do not have to rewrite it.

Your product stays yours

You manufacture wherever you like.

We never compete with your supply chain. We license the controller; you own the product you sell.

Who you are working with.

Sparrow Quest is a power-electronics company in Sindelfingen, Germany. We designed and built a market-ready, high-dynamic BLDC motor controller, first for UAV propulsion, and we support customers across the DACH region with application engineering.

This is phase 0, step one. Tell us about your platform and we will come back with a configured design proposal and a pilot scope.

What happens next

  1. 1. We read your platform details and reply within two working days.
  2. 2. A 60-minute technical call. You bring your platform specification; we bring a configured design proposal and pilot scope.
  3. 3. If it fits both sides, we sign the requirement sheet and phase 0 begins.

Limited places in the 2027 cohort. The first pilots start in Q1 2027.

Only the first four fields are required. Send what you have; the rest is what we would cover on the call anyway.

Optional: the technical picture

We treat everything you send as confidential and never share it with third parties.

Next step: a 60-minute technical call.

You bring your platform specification. We bring a configured design proposal and a pilot scope.
